Quality Bearings Online Expands Head Quarters, Invests in People, and Establishes Growth Plans For The Next 5 Years
Following a year of celebratory announcements, including 10 years in business and being announced the winner of the Queen’s Award For Enterprise For International Trade, this Leeds-based company, Quality Bearings Online Limited (QBOL), has another success story to add to the list in the form of its relocation to brand-new purpose-built warehouse and office space.
The move is a result of the company’s incredible growth in the last few years. From a company that started with just 2 people, QBOL now has a young and dynamic team of 19 individuals, each bringing their own unique talents, perspectives, and drive. In 2022 alone, the team has grown by 5 people, all now enrolled on the QBOL journey, including QBOL’s first COO.
Growth leads to expansion, and QBOLs new space provides 4,500 sq. ft. of modern offices and 12,500 sq. ft. of warehousing. QBOL has quickly taken advantage of all this room to increase stock holdings of its extensive product line amid global shortages of stock and production and increased demand.
The events of recent years have had an enormous impact on the bearing industry due to halted production and the increased demand for raw materials already in short supply. Lead times from manufacturers extend months into the future, and the struggle to find available stock has been felt by the entire supply network. With this in mind, QBOL’s team has maintained high stock levels of these in-demand products, ensuring the shortest possible lead time for their customers.
In addition to the new warehouse space, the offices provide the whole QBOL team with clean, modern workspaces, meeting rooms, and communal areas designed to facilitate both internal and external collaborations.
QBOL’s CEO, Denny Maude, said, “This move is the latest in the ongoing re-shaping of our business. We have already invested significantly in new technology to aid us in our 5-year strategy plan and the focus on customer centricity, digitalization and branding, and improving our product offering and services.”
To deliver this ambitious strategy, QBOL will also be investing in its people. In 2020, QBOL was accredited by Investors In People and will be renewing the accreditation later this year. Each employee is given the opportunity to grow and develop new and existing skills through in-house training and external courses. Women make up over 67% of QBOL employees. As such, the company is now proudly working in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University on the #WECAN project, which aims to support women in SMEs by advancing leadership, management, and coaching skills through workshops, webinars, and ILM courses. Employees have enrolled on the project and are now working towards qualifications and learning new skills to help progress their careers.
QBOL is a multi-award-winning company which supplies precision bearings, engineering spares, and technologically advanced lubricants to customers in over 110 countries worldwide. The company prides itself on offering industry-recognized, quality brands alongside expert knowledge, excellent customer service, and rapid delivery anywhere in the world.
