NCS IT Renews Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation for Another Year!
NCS IT Ltd just renewed their Cyber Essentials Plus certification for another year after external auditors appraised their cybersecurity systems and procedures.
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed scheme that lays out a set of policies and procedures that organisations can put in place to show they meet a basic standard of IT security. These are basic technical measures that organisations should have to protect themselves against common IT security threats. There are two levels – Cyber Essentials, and Cyber Essentials Plus which is externally audited.
The Cyber Essentials scheme is suitable for organisations of all sizes and in all sectors. Having a Cyber Essentials certification is usually mandatory for businesses who work on government contracts which involve handling personal information or providing certain products and services.
The certification process takes into account:
- Your firewall
- Malware and anti-virus protection
- Security configuration (e.g. password policies, multifactor authentication, user access controls)
- Software update management (e.g. Windows Updates and software patches)
Carl Nelson, Managing Director of NCS IT Ltd comments, “A huge well done to the team involved in renewing our Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation for another year.
“This scheme is something we strongly recommend to all of our clients as it covers the minimum cyber security procedures that all businesses should have in place nowadays.”
