Miranda Barker OBE appointed alongside 4 new Deputy Lieutenants for Lancashire
The Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Mrs Amanda Parker JP, is delighted to announce the appointment of five new Deputy Lieutenants.
They will join the existing team of Deputies who help and support the Lord-Lieutenant in her duties as His Majesty The King’s representative in the county of Lancashire.
East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce CEO Professor Miranda Barker OBE has been included in these appointments.
Miranda commented:
“I’m honoured to be appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant and I look forward to working with the amazingly experienced and diverse group of DLs supporting the Lord Lieutenant in her work, representing His Majesty the King in the wonderful county of Lancashire.”
The newly-commissioned Deputy Lieutenants are:
Professor Miranda Barker OBE of Burnley
(Chief Executive of East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce & Industry, leading economic regeneration, business support, and low carbon initiatives, including the £6 M Chamber Low Carbon program and £2.7 M RedCAT project)
Mr Michael Conlon of Penwortham, near Preston
(Chairman of Conlon Construction Limited, an award-winning construction group based in Lancashire which has carried out a number of prestigious projects, including the refurbishment of Preston Bus Station)
Mr Travis Frain OBE of Darwen
(Lecturer in Policing and Criminology at the University of Central Lancashire, and Founder of the counter-extremism NGO, Resilience in Unity. Travis has worked in national security and as a victims advocate since surviving injuries sustained in the Westminster Bridge attack in March 2017).
His Honour Judge Graham Knowles KC
(A Circuit Judge sitting in Lancashire since 2010, and formerly a barrister in independent practice on the Northern Circuit from 1990)
Dr Christopher Lomas of Ormskirk
(Chief Technology Officer at CoEditor Limited which specialises in AI technology solutions for the publishing industry. Deputy Lead Volunteer for West Lancashire Scouts supporting 12,000 volunteers and young people, and is also Chair of Governors at Crawford Village Primary School and Chair of Trustees at Bolton Mountain Rescue Team).
