Rolls-Royce SMR to launch new testing facility at AMRC Factory 2050
Rolls-Royce SMR is preparing to manufacture and test prototype modules for its small modular reactors (SMRs) at a new multi-million-pound facility.
The Module Development Facility, located in the AMRC’s flagship Factory 2050 building, will produce working prototypes of individual modules to be assembled into Rolls-Royce SMR power plants.
The initial phase, valued at £2.7 million, is part of a larger £15+ million work package designed to further de-risk and support the Rolls-Royce SMR programme.
